"We live in a time when the topic of artificial intelligence (AI) has become an integral part of everyday life. Not a day goes by without reports on new advances in the field of AI or headlines about the benefits and risks of AI for individuals, companies, and society as a whole. In my research, I am particularly interested in how companies use AI-based information systems and the resulting impacts on individuals, organizations, economies, and society as a whole. I aim to use this knowledge to design AI-based information systems with a special focus on the user perspective, aligning the needs and goals of all stakeholders (e.g. developers, users, managers, customers). Achieving these goals requires interdisciplinary exchange with colleagues from other fields and engagement with companies in the region."

Generative AI copilots are already being used in many companies. Can they assist employees with data analysis and decision-making? And if not, how can this be changed? These are some of the questions addressed by a team at the University of Passau in a new bidt project led by Professor Ulrich Gnewuch.
